Microsoft To Start iTunes Music Store Competition

"According to an article on CNET , Microsoft is planning on starting a music subscription service which will directly compete with Apple's iTunes Music Store. The service will apparently offer "unlimited downloads" for a flat, monthly rate, with the catches being that (a) you rent your music instead of owning it, and, (b) your music "expires" if you ever leave their service. The big question remains: can Microsoft do something like this without causing problems for their users? Are they going to have call Microsoft whenever they change their computer's hard drive in order to listen to their music again? Will they use DRM to prevent you from making your music portable?
