News from sfbags: The Most Innovative Case Designers write Us

Hi Hugo,

We have just started shipping a protective case for the iPod nano from Apple. The slim iPod nano Case weighs next to nothing, and incorporates three layers of protection. The exterior is sturdy Indium nylon which comes in five eye-popping colors, the plastic middle layer provides protection against impact; and the interior layer of cushiony neoprene has a silky liner, making it smooth and easy to slide the iPod nano in and out of the case. An elastic band, cleverly sewn in the back, is for storing the ear buds.

We have also re-designed our existing small iPod Gear Pouch, and added a padded compartment which hugs the slim iPod nano. Small enough to hold on the palm of your hand, the Gear Pouch can fit an iPod nano, its WaterField case, ear buds, USB power adapter and either an arm band or a power supply. The small iPod Gear Pouch can also be used with ipod, iPod photo and iPod mini.

The iPod Log: Part 1

Well it's done, My iPod G3 was sold with all (see previous post iPod with Video pave the Way to new G3-4 second hand market)
and the new owner is in 7 heaven. It's been only 3 or 4 days now but I miss it already.

Tried to get my hand on a new iPod with Video, but no dice; -Seems like all new Apple products that have been release here in Canada (Should I say Montreal Canada ?) we are out of luck or out of stock! All Apple re sellers in this area have been contacted
for most of them they had only a few units to begin with and where all sold during week-en. That brings me to this: Does people that purchase a iPod do it only on week-ends ? Mine was sold on a friday. Place all my calls on a Monday; That should explain the lack of enthusiasm from the sales people i have talk to. No store in Montreal can tell me (but one) when they will get new shipment, and that is a month and a half before Christmas, can you dig this ? The one store that did, stated that they should have some in on November 11. Just how many ? They couldn't say, blame it on Apple Canada they say.

Speaking of Apple Canada, I went to try to purchase a unit on the Apple Store (Canada); did all, and when I was ready to order this is what i have found out: "Your Product Qualifies for free shipment" (Ground that is). What does that means: Well in a nutshell it means that Internally it will take Apple 1 to 3 Business days to get the product from the assembly line to the distribution center and then 10 to 12 business days to ship. But for $15 (CDN) it could be in your hands in 5 to 8 business days.
Is Apple slow or just trying to sell me fed ex services ? We had the same problem when a few years back Apple introduced the very first Apple G4 Tower. Place a order and had to wait almost 3 month to get it. We complained. Build a web site to show them that G4 actually meant the amount of country that Apple distribution had taken seriously. After many excuses and apologies; we got our hands on the unit.

Will it turn out to be another one of these brouhaha ? Only Time will tell Will see......as the iPod with video Saga goes on i will keep you posted! Stay tune.....
