Now Read This !

Fall always brings us a full harvest of tech. books, and trust me we read them all.
Here is what keep our eyes and mind busy this month:

Getting Started with Adobe InDesign CS2 Personal Seminar
by Terry White
From Peachpit Press
ISBN 0-321-33049-8

-This book is not really one; It's more like having a personal tutor by the means of a DVD and a booklet.
Those two tools do not cover the same techniques, they complement each other.
Great concept, super package for the price of a book, this one will not disappoint you.

Mac OSX Tiger Edition The Missing Manual
by David Pogue
From Pogue Press/ O'Reilly
ISBN 0-596-00941-0

-The Original and still the best. We keep on using it as a reference for all we (should by now) know about mastering Tiger.
Nice presentation, Thick Bible concept, with very well organized chapters and index, makes this book a must have for all Tiger Users.

Hillman Curtis on Creating Short Films For The Web
by Hillman Curtis
From New Riders
ISBN 0-321-27891-7

-Great book that reads like a creative, narative technical novel more than a how to guide.
If you want to know what it's like to successfully run a design studio, be tech savvy but still have your creative juice intact, and to do all that just like if you where a intern; then this one of a kind book should please you.

Creating Pages with iWork
Visual Quick Project Guide
by David Morris
From Peachpit Press
ISBN 0-321-35755-8

-Fun project book where by going one step at the time you will create a whole lot of projects that will empower you with Apple's iWork . Fun to do like a week-end seminar, this book is more affordable and the coffee at home is always better.
Projects files can be downloaded from the web. Excellent !

iPod with Video pave the Way to new G3-4 second hand market

The New iPod with Video (G5) is the greatest new toy around. Slim, and Sexy it's everyone secret wish.
While most owners are scrambling to get video content in -Something is happening that no one could have predicted;
A second hand market Bonanza for the "older" models (G3).

I for one am selling my faithfull Generation 3 iPod to get myself the new one. The 4th gen. never made me move a inch; Buy another one just to get photo content .... nope or get myself a U2 Model .... I don't think so.

But what as hit me is that if I put a accessory package together (I have no choice most of everything I had purchased to complement my iPod won't fit my new one) I can get a very descent price for it. So close actually that my new one might cost me a few $$ only.

Ok I know I will have to get a new cradle, a descent AV Cable, but all things considered it will be for the sellers as well as the buyer a fair deal.

I Predict that this will be a trend to come specially now right before Christmas.

Here is what the new owner will get for about the same price (I should say about 20% less) than getting a brand new iPod, when he picks up mine : iPod 20 Gig 2nd Gen. in top shape with well over 700 songs (Yes all legit) a Contour Design Black Shockproof Case, Apple Remote, Apple Headphones, a Waterfield (sfbags) accessories case, a replacement battery, a Fantastic BTI "External Cradle Battery Pack" (Anyone who owns a iPod regardless of the model should get this) Christopher Breen Book Secret of the iPod, iTunes software CD, all cables, a car charger, a wireless transmiter and No taxes, or waiting.
No saleman pressure no fake Bull extended warantee.

Who said that iPod don't have a second life ?
Not me !
