FrameMaker Leaves the Mac Behind

The support and development of Adobe FrameMaker for the Mac community will soon come to an end. The Mac version of FrameMaker will be discontinued on April 21st, but Adobe Expert Support will continue to support the Mac FrameMaker until April 21, 2005. FrameMaker will continue to be supported and developed for both the Windows and Solaris platforms.

Smartwrap controls those headphone cables

Smartwrap, winner of I.D. Magazine's Design Distinction Award, is a cord manager for iPod headphone cables. It is designed and developed by Sumajin, an industrial design firm in Singapore. Smartwrap is easy to use and it serves the purpose. All that is required is to snap the cord into place at one of two places, then wrap and snap into place again. EU fines Microsoft record $611.8 million

"U.S. software giant Microsoft was on Wednesday slapped with a record fine for violating European Union antitrust law and ordered to take immediate steps to stop crushing software rivals. The EU executive said Microsoft must act within four months to change the way it does business in Europe 'because the illegal behavior is still going on.'"

iPhoto 4.0.1 Update

iPhoto 4.0.1 is now available via the Software Update panel. It includes many organizational and stability enhancements. Performance has also been increased throughout the application, giving you faster importing, smoother image viewing and easier Rendezvous photo sharing. This version of iPhoto also features improved thumbnail images in your photo library. To take advantage of this, your thumbnails must be upgraded, which may take a while, depending on the number of photos in your library.

Apple releases iChat 2.1, with AIM Windows video support

Following a public beta release offered in early February, Apple on Tuesday released iChat AV v2.1, the latest version of its instant messaging software for users of Mac OS X. The new version can be downloaded through the Software Update system preferences pane or from Apple's Web site.

iPod mini won't be available worldwide until July

Apple announced Thursday that its iPod mini won't be available worldwide until July, about three months later than it had originally anticipated. Apple said that stronger than expected demand in the U.S. has constrained supplies through the end of June. Apple now anticipates that its production will be ramped up to meet worldwide demand in the July quarter. The iPod mini has been even a bigger hit than we had guessed it would."
