Apple to open store this week in Seoul, Korea

A MacNN reader writes: "On Thursday, Apple will be opening a large store in the trendy COEX Mall in the south of Seoul. It's part of Apple's major push in Korea, which will feature a lot of deals and the iPod for Windows in Korean roll-out. It's a great location, big, in perhaps the most busy place in all of Korea. (The store is between the biggest bookstore in Korea and arguably the largest movie theater in the world)."

Rumours: Adobe's Next Upgrades - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

An analyst report made waves today with speculation that Adobe would release a new version of Photoshop "and other key applications" by the end of the year.

According to the report, November/December is the expected shipment time for Photoshop 8.

Early beta screenshots of Photoshop 8 appeared on Mac websites in early July. Those images were quickly removed at Adobe's request, however.

Early reports and screenshots of Adobe Illustrator 11 have also made the rounds.

One reader notes that McGraw-Hill is publishing a book entitled "How to Do Everything with Illustrator 11" which is due to be published on October 9, 2003 -- providing one possible timeframe for release.

In the meanwhile, upcoming PowerMac G5 owners should be satisfied with Photoshop 7 with a G5 Photoshop plug-in which is reported to be coming.

Microsoft-Watch reports on another major Adobe application -- InDesign. Indesign 3.0 is currently in beta testing and is expected to be released this fall. Microsoft-Watch details numerous improvements in the 3.0 version. (Source Macrumours)

Rumours: Aluminium PowerBook 15" Available this Month

Several sources point to a new Apple announcement for Monday August 18 or Tuesday the 19. It could be the PowerBook with Aluminum 15" and an increase in frequencies for the 12" and 17", as well as new display which will port the new G5 look with grilled border. Lastly, less probable, however, we'll never know, a little update for the iMac to spark the sale which is rather weak these last month.
